June 2011 – The Carragher Chronicles

Dear Praying Friends,

We would like to start by thanking all of you for your faithful prayers and support. Each of you makes a difference in our lives – and, especially in those we’re called to reach for our Lord and Savior. We simply can’t thank you enough for your continuous faithfulness and inspiration. That is why it is a wonderful joy to serve the Lord along with you in the cause of world evangelization!

Every day, God gives us great opportunities to minister to our missions family. In the past two months, we have given deputation training, field and church advice, developed displays, prayer cards, brochures, and multimedia video presentations. Yet many challenges remain including our missionary families who are experiencing health difficulties, for which we appreciate your prayers. The Lord is faithful allowing us in small ways to speak with them through their trying times. Please join us in praying for them as they recover, so they may return to serving Him full time.

Last month, the Lord was gracious and allowed me to preach again and help assemble 45,000 pieces of scripture at Grace Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit, MO annual Bible conference. By God’s grace, half are already in the hands of our heroes.

Also, the Lord has opened the doors to two more bases with Associate Missionaries. A couple of years back the DOD was reporting 495 permanent bases staffed by U.S. service personnel worldwide. Today, that number has fallen by over 100. The good news is there are less places to reach our heroes—The bad news is in some areas we’re not even scratching the surface. Please continue to pray for more laborers. Ultimately, we’re so thankful He is extending our borders and we know it is an answer to your hard work and prayers.

Debbie, the boys, and I are grateful for your kind and faithful support of our ministry with AFBM. We realize there are some churches we have not reported to in years. If you or your church would like us to report in over the next year, please email us at director@afbmissions.com and we will do everything in our power to schedule a meeting. For us it is always a joy to visit your churches and see those that labor together with us in this work.

May our Lord richly bless you and the local ministry that you labor in week after week. Thank you for praying and loving us. May the Lord bless you.
